Front Wheel Hub Replacement

Remove Wheel

Loosen 5 lug nuts (21mm) while car is on ground, then jack up and remove wheel.

Remove Brake Caliper

Remove two 17mm caliper bracket bolts. Hang caliper with wire — never let it dangle by the brake line.

Remove Brake Rotor

Remove the rotor retaining screw (Phillips) if present. Tap with a rubber mallet if the rotor is stuck.

Disconnect ABS Sensor

Remove 10mm bolt securing ABS sensor wire. Unplug the connector carefully — sensors are fragile.

Remove Hub Assembly

Remove four 14mm hub-to-knuckle bolts from the back side. Hub assembly pulls straight out.

Install New Hub

Place new hub assembly into knuckle. Hand-thread the four 14mm bolts, then torque to 65 ft-lbs in a star pattern.

Reassemble Brakes

Reinstall ABS sensor (10mm, 9 ft-lbs), rotor, and caliper bracket (17mm, 79 ft-lbs).

Mount Wheel & Torque

Mount wheel and hand-tighten lug nuts. Lower car, then final torque lugs to 89 ft-lbs in a star pattern. Re-torque after 50 miles.
